They will appear in the Notes app in a new folder called “Imported Notes.”
If you prefer to switch to using the Notes app, you can export all of your current Stickies to Notes from the file menu by selecting “Export All to Notes.” There is no “Save” option in the File menu, but you can use “Export Text” which will do the same thing. This will prompt you to save when you try to close the note, allowing you to store the content as a text file. The only way to get rid of a note permanently is to click the box in the top left corner of the note. Stickies will automatically save every edit you make to your notes, so you can close the app or restart your Mac without losing a thing. You’re limited to the classic Post-It colors, but there are enough for basic categorization. You can also change the color from the “Color” menu, or with Command + 1 to Command + 6: While there’s no option to change where they’re arranged, since the top left location blocks the title bar of many apps, it’s still a pretty handy feature for keeping things organized. You can even sort them automatically and sort them into a list in the top left corner, using the “Arrange By” menu in the Window settings. Once you make a new note, you can write whatever you want and use all the formatting you would in TextEdit or the Notes app. You can edit these notes or close them and create your own by choosing File > New Note (or pressing Command + N). You will immediately be presented with two sample notes containing some instructions and showing how Stickies will look on your desktop.
